Pharmacist

Job Summary

As a Pharmacist within the RHS, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines across clinical services. You will provide expert advice on drug therapies, support prescribing decisions, and work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimise patient outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing prescriptions, managing the supply and storage of medications, counselling patients on their medicines, and contributing to medicines reconciliation and discharge planning. You may also be involved in clinical ward rounds, antimicrobial stewardship, and supporting specialist services depending on your area of practice.

Within the RHS, you will support quality improvement initiatives, promote safe medication practices, and contribute to training and education for both staff and patients. You will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and participate in audits, incident reviews, and formulary development.

This role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. As a Pharmacist in the RHS, you will be a key part of the multidisciplinary team, helping to ensure that medicines are used safely and effectively throughout the patient journey.
