Job Summary

As a Consultant within the RHS, you will be a senior clinical leader responsible for delivering expert care within your specialty and shaping the direction of services in line with RHS priorities. You will provide advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and decision-making, managing complex cases and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, supervise and mentor junior doctors and other healthcare professionals, and play a key role in education, research, and clinical governance. Your responsibilities will include overseeing outpatient clinics, ward rounds, procedures, and contributing to on-call services as required by your department.

In the RHS, Consultants are expected to drive service innovation, contribute to strategic planning, and support quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety, experience, and outcomes. You will work collaboratively with other leaders across the organisation, championing a culture of learning, inclusion, and excellence.

This role is suited to a highly experienced and dedicated clinician who combines expert medical knowledge with leadership skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
