Registrar
Job Summary
As a Registrar within the RHS, you will be a senior trainee doctor playing a critical role in the delivery of specialist medical care across your chosen field. Working under the guidance of consultants and alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will manage the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, often taking a lead role in complex clinical situations.
You will provide supervision and support to junior doctors and medical students, contribute to the training and development of colleagues, and ensure continuity and quality of care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. Your responsibilities will also include conducting ward rounds, performing procedures, reviewing investigations, and participating in clinical decision-making.
As part of the RHS, you will be encouraged to engage in service development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives. You will also be supported in progressing through your specialty training programme, with opportunities for research, teaching, and leadership development.
This role requires a high level of clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. As a Registrar in the RHS, you will be expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient care, while preparing for the transition to consultant-level practice.
