Foundation Doctor

Job Summary

As a Foundation Doctor within the RHS, you will be at the beginning of your medical career, gaining broad clinical experience while providing high-quality, safe, and patient-focused care under the supervision of senior clinicians. You will rotate through various specialties, building core competencies in assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and communication.

Your responsibilities will include clerking patients, contributing to ward rounds, ordering and interpreting investigations, prescribing under supervision, and maintaining accurate medical records. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care across both emergency and elective pathways.

As part of the RHS, you will be supported through structured teaching, supervision, and reflective learning opportunities designed to help you meet the competencies of the UK Foundation Programme. You will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
